Alissa M. Ardito

Alissa Ardito is a Visiting Fellow at Yale University. Her research covers the history of political thought, including the rise of the modern state, the history of republicanism, as well as property, administrative, and constitutional law. She has written on topics ranging from Renaissance sculpture to free speech in the era of social media. She holds a Ph.D. from Yale University and J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. She has been a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Political Science at Duke University, a Visiting Scholar at the American Academy in Rome, and a Fellow at Monticello's International Center for Jefferson Studies. She has also worked as an executive branch honors attorney. She is working on a law review article on Thomas Jefferson and the abolition of the fee tail estate.
