Brian Ross

Brian is a photographer & documentary filmmaker internationally & has been sharing his photography insights and images with photographers in Hawaii Photography Workshops for over 10 years.

I have a BA Degree in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied under Amos Vogel, co-founder of the NY Film Festival, watching films frame by frame, and analyzing their distinct communication. I found an essay by Wassily Kandiunsky at the bookstore of the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. It introduced me to the concept of visual grammar, which I have practiced in Jazz & Social Documentaries, & in still photography for over 3o years.

It is my great privilege to share these unique perspectives on photography to inspire and enlighten photographers about the creative process of photography.
