Goldie Gendler Silverman

From a very early age, Goldie Gendler Silverman loved to write poems and stories. Her first paid published work was an advertising jingle in the Omaha World Herald when she was in grade school. For this she was paid one dollar.

Since then, Goldie has been one of the writers of the Phoenix Reading Series (remedial readers); co-author of four low-fat, low-salt cookbooks; author of scripts for Seattle tour guides; and author of Backpacking With Babies and Small Children, and Camping With Kids. Far from Omaha, she now writes from her home overlooking Lake Washington. Hiker, camper, high school and university teacher, world traveler, mother of three and grandmother of four, Goldie brings all of her skills and interests to everything she does.
