Facilities Engineering.

Worked as a facilities engineer for building owners (US Air Force, University of California), consulting firms (Brown & Caldwell, ERA) and design-build contractors (CommAir Mechanical Services, Siemens Building Technologies).

Building Infrastructure Specialist.

Spent an entire career investigating existing building infrastructure systems and conceiving, designing, permitting, constructing and commissioning artful and cost-effective projects to restore/modernize building infrastructure systems, including leading multi-disciplinary teams to implement the engineering services on a turnkey basis. Design professional in overall responsible charge managing projects through permitting agencies including OSHPD and DSA.

Business Development.

Principal in developing the Energy Services (aka "Performance Contracting") industry in the early 1980's, including the creation of a (now) billion-dollar business unit for a Fortune-500 temperature control manufacturer.

Forensic Engineering.

Employed investigative, analytical and communication skills to become a board-certified forensic engineer, handling over 50 legal cases for both sides (plaintiff and defendant). Now serving on forensic engineer certification board.

Published Author.

Written, published and presented numerous technical papers at conferences and in trade publications, and authored two technical books published by The Fairmont Press.

Professional Educator.

A former school board member and professional educator, having taught many seminars for the Association of Energy Engineers and courses for U.C. Berkeley and San Francisco State University.

Personal Entertainment.

For fun I design, build and compete in racing machines.
