Following a long and successful career as a secretary/PA in many fields, Anne Wall decided that the time had come for a career change. So, with her family by then all grown up, she decided that the point in her life had been reached to put her creativity to work and fulfil a long-held ambition to write for children. Anne readily admits that her Lexicon Series has been a slow burn, a real labour of love, The Librarius Quest evolving from a 1500 word assignment she was tasked with creating some twenty years ago. Deciding that that short storyline had more to offer than just one novel, Anne realised that a series beckoned and went on to write two further books, The Curse of The Bletherwytch and then The Witch’s Blood. Not content to leave it there, a fourth book was finally penned to pull all the threads of the storyline together to bring The Lexicon Series to its long-awaited conclusion.
Having ‘lived’ her protagonist’s adventures alongside him for every one of those twenty creative years, understandably, Anne is very protective of him. And in her own words, she has this to say:-
“Having created my young adventurer, Alfie Tucker, he became my responsibility. I had to keep him safe. And so it was that as I penned his adventures, I stepped into his shoes, went where he went, suffered as he suffered, fought his battles alongside him, extricated him from the impossibly tight corners I managed to write him into, and, most importantly, triumphed when he triumphed; that is what really gives me that buzz of excitement and warm feeling of satisfaction!”
