Dr. Martin Turner was born and raised in the black country in the Midlands U.K., later moving to Stoke on Trent where he was an Associate Professor of Psychology at Staffordshire University. He is now Reader in Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University. Martin is a practicing sport and exercise psychologist who works with international sports teams and businesses. He is an active researcher whose expertise are in human performance under pressure, and peak performance in the face of adversity. He has authored numerous scientific articles, book chapters, and web articles, and has presented his work at national and international conferences. Martin's work covers areas such as stress, emotion, psychophysiology, rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), and the use of psychological skills to enhance performance.
