Thomas Hoffmann

Thomas Hoffmann, born 1971 in Hamburg. Studied sociology, psychology and political science at the University of Hamburg and the Free University of Berlin. Diploma in sociology in 1999. From 1998 to 2002, practical work as an educator in various residential and day care centres for people with disabilities, individual case worker for mentally ill adults, teacher in the field of adult education for people with disabilities. From 2001 to 2007, research assistant at the Faculty of Special Education at Ludwigsburg University and at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Cologne. From 2007 to 2018 Assistant Professor (Akademischer Oberrat). 2011 Doctorate in educational science. 2015/2016 Visiting Professor of Education for Severe Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities and Inclusive Education at Heidelberg University of Teacher Education. 2016/2017 Visiting Professor of Rehabilitation Sociology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. From 2018 to 2024 Professor of Inclusive Education at the Institute for Teacher Education and School Research at the University of Innsbruck. Since 2024 Professor of Special Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
