Joanne Warner

I am an academic in the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research at the University of Kent. My research interests are in risk and social welfare, where I am especially interested in the impact of 'risk thinking' and mechanisms of blame on professional practice in social work. Most recently, the focus of my research has been on the 'emotional politics' of risk in social work and child protection, and this is the main area I explore in my recent book.
