Bruce Porter

Bruce Porter worked as a newspaper reporter and as a writer for Newsweek, and for many years he taught as a professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Before all that he served as a stream guard for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in the Aleutians and as the national billboard inspector for Old Crow bourbon. Married to the painter Sara Roszak, he lives on a former gladiola farm in Claverack, NY, and teaches journalism to prison inmates as a visiting professor at Bard College.
