Michael Odom is an American poet and translator, the author of First Prayer, Selene, Boredom, Vice and Poverty, the chapbook Strutting, Attracting, Snapping, Ick Fran's Tick, and translator of Count Arnau & Other Poems of Joan Maragall. For 20 years, he was a bookseller, manager, and buyer for both independent and chain bookstores. As a single father with bookstores closing all around, Michael Odom returned to school and received his MFA in Poetry from New England College. His brush with current academia where art is of secondary or no value ended quickly. He is no longer involved in teaching or selling any poems but God's and his own.
