Grant Baker is a certified elementary English Language Acquisition teacher in Maryland public schools. He met his wife Natasha while teaching English as a foreign language in southeastern France. Natasha is also a certified ELA teacher. She teaches in middle and high school; both Grant and Natasha find that children of all ages enjoy arts-based activities, student-centered lessons, and a positive approach to classroom management.
Grant had the idea for Teaching is for Kids while participating in training after training on how to use graphic organizers in the classroom. The illustrations in the book reflect the various graphic organizers that teachers are regularly urged to use.
Teaching is for Kids is their first book.
He is currently working on a book on bilingual homes.
