You'd think as long as I have been in business, many different businesses, I'd write about that. You know... how to, when to, etc. I love all things business, especially small business and start-ups, very exciting, but that's not all I am.

My real life long passion is writing. I'm a storyteller. As with many authors, I started writing when I was pretty young; I wrote many stories, essays and the like. The idea of writing a book hit me when I was around 18 or so. But I had no clue how to, nor at 18 did I have the patience to. So I wrote many outlines and many 'first few pages', which for 30 years went no further.

I'm not sure exactly what changed but 3 years ago I told myself I don't do this now I'll never do it. Have you ever said that to yourself? This time I was motivated and stuck to it. I went through all of my many pages of outlines and story ideas and picked one of my favorites. An outline that I started when I was 22, whew!

It took me 8 weeks to write the first draft, which I know is pretty fast. The thing is, I knew exactly what I wanted out of the story, I felt like I'd lived it because it's been stuck in my head for so many years. Long Trip Home was born.

My goal, my only goal with any of my novels is to entertain. I write like I'm living it, I want you to live it too. The feedback for Long Trip Home has been amazing, an authors favorite words; "I couldn't put it down!". Love that! It's also been great how many have expressed how much they feel LTH should be a movie. I don't know about that, but still cool.
