Hi! I'm Laurie Samsel Olson. Author, blog writer, family caregiver, and high desert rose gardener. My passion is to share stories rooted in real life -- my own and others.

You'll discover my imagination and perspective in the novel "Shooting Stars" and the Highlights for Children story "Maria and Masha." In my blog launched in 2018, "Where the Roses Grow," you'll read short, inspirational essays on the life lessons learned in my rose garden.

Soon I'm looking forward to sharing a remarkable story based on the lives and experiences of my mother and her best friends who came of age during World War II in San Pedro, California. I anticipate completing this historical novel in 2019.
