Patricia Komar

In a small village in British Columbia, surrounded by picturesque mountains and fields of blueberries, corn, and grasses, Patricia Komar weaves storylines through the many landscapes she has explored, from the Colorado and Canadian Rockies to the severe hiking trails of the Swiss Alps, and finally to the serene bays of the San Juan Islands where she meanders in her canoe and kayak.

As Feature writer for a North American magazine called Modern Dog, www.moderndogmagazine.com, Patricia has written about competitive canine sports and working dogs. Some of her articles have included activities and sports such as agility, flyball, earthdogging, herding, and tracking. Other publications include articles on geocaching and even Geocaching with man's best friend.

Patricia earned degrees in Switzerland, New York, and British Columbia where she studied the arts, psychology, and writing. She lives on the Pacific Northwest coast with her husband and two dogs where she spends her time exploring forests, kayaking, swimming, and dancing.

Her specialties are Creative and Expressive arts, creative writing process and practice, fiction, creative non-fiction, self-publishing, indie publishing, ebooks, books, electronic publishing, writing, Expressive and Creative Arts Therapy, Therapeutic Arts, Adlerian Therapy, dramatic arts, theater, music, dance and choreography, professional speaker.

Adventures and writing are her passions. She's most amazed by the outcome when she combines the two using the creative process. The act or art of decentering is her way of reaching the ultimate in creativity.

She is a lover of nature and the sciences, especially astronomy. Most days she spends her time hiking, canoeing, and kayaking or just slacking about making one of Patti’s Pie Creations, never the same.

She's lived the life of a therapist, teacher, counselor, choreographer, dancer, singer, actress, writer, speaker, competitive swimmer, lifeguard, waitress, bartender, feature writer of canine sports and activities, trainer of an earthdogger and one very yet obstinate jokester of a blue heeler. She has yet to open her store called Patti’s Pie Creations with a specialty in cherry, strawberry/rhubarb and also a saffron pie. How do you make a saffron pie, you may be asking? Stay tuned. You’ll probably read about it in one of her upcoming books.
