Elizabeth Gedmark

Elizabeth Gedmark is the Director of the Southern Office/Staff Attorney at A Better Balance: The Work and Family Legal Center. At ABB she has worked on various campaigns to empower working families, such as the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Elizabeth has particular expertise in pregnancy discrimination issues and has provided advice for states and campaigns pursuing stronger legal protections around the country. Elizabeth also assists low-income workers through ABB's Families at Work Legal Clinic. She graduated from the New York University School of Law. Elizabeth is a co-author of the book, "Babygate: How to Survive Pregnancy and Parenting in the Workplace," and author of the article published in the Clearinghouse Review, "Using Pregnancy Discrimination Claims to Fight Poverty."
