James Odell

James Odell has been writing for many years. I have published six Steampunk novels, available as ebooks or print on demand. I have published two novels set at the end of the Roman Empire.

I am now working on a series of Urban Fantasy series, set in the present day. Three of these have been published. I have spent several years trying to find a publisher for these stories. When I was forced to remain at home because of the lockdown, I decided to self-publish them.

They describe secret magical societies set around the world, and their efforts to remain secret. These novels have a political overtone.

In my day job, I write technical 'guidance' for traders, explaining complex ideas in ways that outsiders can understand.

I have been reading science fiction and fantasy novels for long as I can remember. My interest at present is urban fantasy. My hobbies have included sailing yachts, flying sailplanes and skiing cross-country in the Adirondacks and the Swiss Alps. These experiences have gone into my books.

I was born in Kettering, England, in 1954 and now live in Southend, Essex
