Way too late in life I realized:

1. The way I see and be in the world is a choice...and it matters

2. We're all in this journey through life together and the quality of my experience increases as the quality of the experiences of others increases

All of my teaching (I am a professor of management at the United States Air Force Academy) and writing aims to enrich the quality of our lives.

Since so much of our conscious lives are spent at work, I spend a lot of my time trying to make our work experiences better. I base this work on three points:

1. Organizations are amazingly complex

2. Effective people adapt to the complexity

3. Reflection helps

I've co-authored a "Thinking Deeply About" series of books addressing these ideas:

The 52nd Floor: Thinking Deeply About Leadership

Echoes of Mind: Thinking Deeply About Humanship

Attitudes Aren't Free: Thinking Deeply About Diversity in the U.S. Armed Forces
