My first experiences were not with God, but with religion. And though I attended church, I still found my spiritual life to be extremely empty; so I found no reason to continue. That was when I went through a period of "enjoying life". Those are code words that so many people use, which really mean that they're trying to fill the void that the Lord needs to fill. At the time, though, it seemed to be enjoyable.

A day came, however, when a friend asked me to go with him to the church that he was attending; and, since I had nothing else to do that day, I agreed to join him. Do you know just how intimidating and uncomfortable it is for someone who has no real interest in church to suddenly find themselves in the middle of a congregation who are speaking in tongues?! But, contrary to my intention to never set foot in there again, I instead returned a couple of weeks later. That was sometime around 1980.

The story only began there, when, a couple of years later, I moved on to oversee a group of believers that the Lord raised up. And it was around that time that I began to write those things that He was showing me in His Word. That was one of the many steps in His training me and preparing me for the place where I am now.

My secular profession is, and has been since before I accepted the Lord as my Savior, as a quality inspector, at this time in the aerospace industry. But my life and calling is as a pastor and teacher of a small group of believers in Connecticut, along with my wife of twenty-seven plus years. And the writing that I started all those years ago has continued unabated, having self-published eight books at the time of this writing. As a teacher and an author, my passion is to teach; and that tends to influence everything I do. Consequently, all of my books, as well as the posts on my blog will be, for the most part, focused on what the Lord has shown me over the years. And I just want to say that these will be for your consideration.
