Growing up in Hampshire England in the 1950’s life was quite idyllic, although at times hard work due to my parents owning a village shop and newsagents. I soon knew the value of money and of serving the community. School, however was not quite so much fun, sadly it was many years later that I discovered that I am slightly dyslexic, that would have answered many questions as why I found spelling and writing a challenge. I married at 18, had two children by 22, and moved to Aberdeen Scotland at aged 26. After a serious life threatening illness, I changed my future by going back to college, and eventually qualifying as a social worker.
I love challenges, and had always wanted to try and write. My stories are ones where the characters can find ways of overcoming adversity, something that so many people I have met have managed to do. I love life, and now in retirement, I can find time to develop so many other activities, and spend time with my lovely granddaughters.
My personal philosophy is that there are only two certainties in life, one is your born and the other is you will die, so… everything in between is an opportunity, so grab it and enjoy the journey.
