Kenny Rager

He was born in 1957 in the Finger Lakes City of Ithaca, New York. He met his best friend there, his brother Rocky, who he followed to Fort Myers, Florida in 1979 and where he has enjoyed a 30 year career in real estate redevelopment.

He has three remarkable daughters, Ashley, Lyndsey Grace and Chloe’. and a grand son to brag about. The death of Lyndsey Grace at 22 from diabetes complications forever changed his life and gave him inspiration to write more. He has now written close to 100 poems and has published 2 books.

When he was 12 his step Dad, Ernie, gave him the poem Invictus as a creed to live by. Kenny found strength in the poem’s words and it sparked his passion for writing poetry. It would be his fondest desire that his poems and books encourage others to take some time and write a rhyme.

“You’re a CrocaGator,” was first featured in Kenny's recent poetry collection Reflections of a Life in Poetry, is now a beautifully and cleverly illustrated picture book. The storyline follows the problems that arise when a crocodile and an alligator fall in love and form a mixed family. Family members of all ages will enjoy the combination of gentle humor and lively characters used to present a sensitive topic. He is currently working on future “CrocaGator” tales for a series that will help children understand and cope with today’s complex family issues.
