Greg Hernandez went from being a fast-food worker to a respiratory therapist and then entered the financial planning world at the age of 27. Throughout his career, he worked for major corporations including Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, enjoying prosperous times before having to practically start over, more than once during his 28-year career.

But starting from scratch meant having to come to an understanding of the factors that landed him in all of his positions, good and bad. He learned to identify, embrace, and implement improvement opportunities at critical moments along the way—known as refining moments.
