John F. Meyer was born in Roanoke, Va. in 1944. At age 7 his family moved to Baltimore where he finished elementary school. In 1958 they moved again to New Jersey where he attended High School. John received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Detroit.
In 1967, John was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the USAF and was assigned to Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He met his wife of 45 years there. She was also an officer in the USAF. John worked on photographic research and development. Among interesting projects was film and chemistry for the SR71 plane and the photomapping of the moon.John resigned from the USAF in 1962 and moved to California.
He worked for Hewlett-Packard for 37 years. He was a Facility engineer then engineering manager. In 1986 he changed careers and worked on inkjet printers. John was awarded 9 patents in inkjet printer development.
John retired in 2010 and the family moved to Knoxville, TN. John got the urge to write a novel. In 2014, John finally published his novel, The Vikings of Vinland. John's other hobbies are photography, woodworking, travel, and gardening.
John and Evelene his wife have a son John C. who is also an aspiring author.
