Dulce Xerach

Dulce Xerach, Tenerife, 1969. Black, crime, noir, novel author of Inspectora María Anchieta serie: The first three titles in the series are 1 Robbery in Sao Paulo, 2 Murder on a London Beach and 3 Kidnapping in Hong Kong. She writes weekly about architecture in the Canarian newspapers El Día and la Provincia, and Arquitectura con Derecho (s) (Arquia Foundation, 2020) is her latest published book. The next installment of the Inspectora María Anchieta Series, 4 Death at the Venice Biennale (2022), will soon come to light. The second one, Murder on a London Beach is translated into English.

In adittion to CEO of architecture company (MENIS ARCHITECTURE) actually, Dulce Xerach was Culture iInister in the Canary Islands for 12 years. So she has been involved in cultural politics and occupied charges of responsability in the Public Administration of Canary Island and the parliament of the archipiélago. She was the president of the Symphonic Orchestra of Tenerife and created the network of music schools of the islands, and the more contemporary arte center of Tenerife, TEA and El Tanque

She is licensed in Law by the University of La Laguna. MBA. Master in Cultural and cultural tourism Management for the Universitat Oberta of Catalunya (UOC) and she is also PHD in Architecture for the European University of Madrid. Expert in Cultural Heritage and Cultural Tourism Management. Actualy she is a crime novel writer.

Regarding her work in non-governmental organizations she is a president of the Friends’ Association of El Tanque which is dedicated to support the Industrial Heritage and she was President of the most important private cultural center in the island, the Tenerife Fine Arts Center, Círculo de Bellas Artes. Now she is the director of a cultural Project in Spain called Culture is Femenine in El Laboratorio, another non-governmental organization.
