Joel Robbins

Robbins says, "I suffer from wanderlust, or maybe wonderlust, syndrome, which also makes my wife suffer travel, but neither of us receives disability benefits for our ailments. Visiting more than 45 countries has not been a cure but a lure. When I travel I tend to want to share my experiences, hence inGear, Ursa Caucasia, Appalachian Tales and Welsh Pears."

The author is a retired language arts teacher, a retired journalist and a Return Peace Corps Volunteer (Azerbaijan--2007-2009) and Peace Corps Response Volunteer (Liberia--2010 and Azerbaijan--2013). He was born in Ohio, but raised in the Hoosier state. He has lived in Kentucky, Azerbaijan and Florida, where he now resides with his wife.

His hobbies have been reading, backpacking, writing, tennis, volunteering and travel. He has been a CASA (Guardian ad Litem), Habitat for Humanity volunteer and county board member, volunteer nature center interpretive host at a state park, literacy tutor, humane society dog walker, Sunday school teacher and youth leader, and mentor of high school students.
