Hi guys! Simply put...I am nuts about self reliance. I am passionate about growing my own food, canning, preserving and preparing foods using methods that some might think of as old fashioned or from a bygone era. Over the years I have found it to be incredibly fun and rewarding. Now I've discovered that sharing some of the fun recipes and methods I've worked up with our amazing community is enjoyable and exciting as well. So thank YOU!

I live with my wife Virginia, two cats, Badness and Malachi, a miniature donkey, Guacamole, two goats, Scamper and Grumpy, and our three dogs, Luis, Murphy, and Newton, along with a two headed tiger on our small farm in North Georgia (Just kidding about the tiger). Every now and then I find time to farm and do some canning...My thanks to all of you!
