Neill Wallace

My life has never followed any type of conventional path. Born in Tasmania, Australia, I have lived on three continents and packed and unpacked more times than I care to remember. I have spent almost the past two decades living in my adopted home of Portland, Oregon, USA.

During my time in the United States, I returned to college to gain a Bachelor of Sciences degree, found a close group of great friends who are my family, adopted a rescue dog called Henry, and come to believe that while geography is important, life is more about connections and relationships that anything else.

In 2004 I took a position as a sales and marketing associate at a medical device company. Within ten years, I had been promoted several times before finally leaving in 2013 as the head of global sales and marketing. During my career climb, I defied (almost) every convention on what it takes to succeed.

My debut book, An Unconventional Leader, explores both my personal and workplace journey. The lessons from which I hope you can apply in order to have a fulfilling and rewarding career. A career in which you get to define what success means.
