Carley Eason Evans

Carley Eason Evans was born in Ohio but was moved by her parents to all parts of the United States of America. In every move, she observed people, discovering that no one is a stranger for long. Carley started to write when she was 10 years old, deciding then she wanted to be a writer. With this in mind, Carley attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio where she majored in English/Writing. What did she write? Poems, but also short stories that were more like interludes. Only later in life did Carley discover the hidden novelist within.

Now Ms. Evans is a prolific novelist who writes about a wide variety of characters from a homeless man (Metal Man Walking and companion novel, Annie Dreaming) to a young genius (The Eight-Foot Boy) to her grandmother (After Jewel) to assassins (Gani & Sean, The Only Thing) to historical fiction (I Am Sofie & Gassed: a tale of the war to end all wars) to sci-fi (Adam Immortal).

Carley also explored the fear people must have experienced during the false missile alert in Hawaii (38 Minutes) and the misogyny and injustice experienced by young women (Boys Never Know). Ms. Evans has written a fictional account of Harry Houdini, his wife, Bess and their imaginary son, Mayer (Burning the Red Candle), (Silver Beach), the story of four men who inadvertently kill the elderly priest who abused them when they were altar boys in his small church in Massachusetts, (The Take-Back Girl) the story of a young woman who repossessed farm equipment in the mountains of North Carolina, and got involved in the criminal side of moonshining.

In anticipation of Easter, 2024, Carley published her 17th novel, In a Grain of Sand, the Whole World in hardback, paperback, and Kindle e-book formats.

Most recently, Carley published her first gothic novel, The Vampyre's Witching Hour: Descent into Darkness which follows John Polidori's transformation into something akin to a vampire. She also published a novella about the first female Gold Medalist: No. 879 Olympian: A Fast Girl and a fable: Fedorka Jonalla.
