Alexander Degen b. 1981 Brooklyn, NY

Began making comics with Mashcomix collective while living in Tokyo, Japan.

Now lives in the US and has published work in Japan, Europe, and America.

Degen's comics draw on influences from art, literature, classic comics, pulp, mystical religion and philosophy, as well as video games.

Has been published in various alternative comics anthologies such as Snakebomb, Sonatina, Futureshock, Chromazoid, Happiness, Felony, and others; current solo books include AREACC and "The Philosopher" from Snakebomb Comix, Junior Detective Files from Sonatina books, Soft X-ray/Mindhunters from Futureshock/Astroplus, and Mighty Star: and The Castle of the Cancatervater coming from Koyama Press in spring 2015
