Swapan Basu

Swapan Basu was born in Kolkata India on 15th October 1956. Completing schooling at Jagatbandhu institution Kolkata hegot his admission in prestigious Institution-- BE College(Now,IIEST) Sibpore to complete his Bachelor degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. He also completed his Master of Engineering degree from BITS Pilani. He started his career in Development Consultants Kolkata & The Kuljian Corporation USA. He also worked on Behalf of Samsung Heavy Industries South Korea,Sense AS Norway,Larsen oil & Gas PTE Singapore. He had chance to engineer a number of international fossil fuel power plants with both sub & super critical plants starting from 60 to 660 MW. He had chance to work in Co generation & combined cycle plants also. He has extensive experience in Oil and Gas industries especially off shore drilling. In the tenure of his over 38 years of International experience he worked in various countries viz. India, USA, South Korea, Syria,Singapore are a few countries to name and has acquaintance with international standards.He had a number of international papers to his credit. In place of theoretical approach he shared his power plant experience in his first book Power Plant Instrumentation and control Handbook. In the second book he has shared his experience on Plant hazard analysis and safety instrumentation systems in single book. Currently he has shared his experience in Flow and developed the book entitled Plant flow measurements and control hand book. All are published globally by Elsevier BV.
