Dick Heimbold is an aerospace engineer who morphed into professional artist and then into his current incarnation as author. He had a long career as an aerospace engineer including serving as Director of Process Engineering on the Space Shuttle. He has been an artist from his teenage years squeezing in art school stints along the way, most notably two years in Sergei Bongart’s school in Los Angeles. Retiring from aerospace in 2005 he became a full-time artist exhibiting in LA and Mexico, winning recognition and many awards. His writing skills evolved from years of focus on technical manuals, papers, articles, and proposals—through personal journaling—to his recent passion for fiction resulting in Dream Wrecks, his debut novel. He is President of the Glendale Art Association and belongs to the Alameda Writers Group. He and his wife Ursula live in Glendale CA.
