Brian Burrell

Brian Burrell is the author of seven books, two of which were written in collaboration with Dr. Allan Ropper of Harvard Medical School. A graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington, Massachusetts, and the University of Pennsyvania, he taught for 27 years in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He now resides in Stockholm, Sweden. Mr. Burrell’s books have been translated into several languages. His most recent work is a revision of the UK edition of Reaching Down the Rabbit Hole, co-written with Dr. Ropper, in which the two authors describe their bizarre and poignant encounters with patients who are dealing with brain and nervous system disorders at a major teaching hospital. Mr. Burrell has appeared on the Today Show with Katie Couric, Booknotes with Brian Lamb, and NPR's Morning Edition with Steve Inskeep.
