Jonathan Lovejoy

Jonathan Lovejoy is an American novelist, poet and short story writer, whose rejection history makes the author one of the most rejected novelists of all time. Of the 50 published books of stories and poems, his novels focus heavily on lesbianism, mother-daughter incest, and mother-daughter child abuse and molestation, often emphasizing generations of violent, abusive mother-daughter relationships. His controversial manuscript "The Farm Girl's Opera," first published as "Elizabeth" in 2012, was rejected more than 7,000 times from 2002 to 2011.

Like all of his published books, "The Farm Girl’s Opera" features a cover portrait painted by William Adolphe Bouguereau. His short fiction and poetry has appeared in "The Storyteller Anthology Magazine," a publication listed in "The 101 Best of the Magazine Markets for Writers." The anthology magazine was recently published in "Magazines for Libraries™"at Harvard University.

Raised in extreme poverty and domestic abuse, Lovejoy is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. in Religious Studies, an M.A. in Theological Studies from Liberty University, and Grand Canyon University with a Master of Divinity. Divorced after 24 years of marriage, he currently lives in Phoenix, AZ.
