Melissa Moses is an Assistant Psychologist at McLean Hospital and a part-time Instructor at Harvard Medical School. She also has a private practice in Belmont, MA. Melissa spent two years of her training working with children and families who have experienced trauma. The children with whom she worked left an indelible impression on Melissa and inspired her to write Alex and the Scary Things. Melissa aimed to created a story book that was accessible, empowering, and fun for children.
When Melissa met the illustrator, Alison MacEachern, she knew she had found the perfect person to bring Alex and Al to life. Alison graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Studio Art, where she gained experience in illustration and graphic design. Alison has a Master’s degree in Expressive Therapy and has a private practice where she does Art Therapy, primarily with children and adolescents.
