As a multi-coastal girl I’ve been blessed to have my fingers in a lot of creative pots. Born in Oakland, CA, raised in St. Louis, college in Illinois, grad school in Colorado, lived & worked in New York & Virginia, I settled in Chicago – the great Mid-Coast, and best theatre city in the country. I started in theatre, first directing then acting, but Chicago opened many doors. I developed a passion for acting in television, film, voice over, and corporate training.
When the opportunity to teach came along I found I loved helping other actors grow. Owning Act One Studios, for over twenty years a major Chicago actor’s training center, allowed me to teach my specialty, industrial film acting, to two generations of actors.
As people from other walks of life started requesting coaching for this type of on-camera training, I developed exercises tailored to their specific needs. I’ve gathered exercises which helped them grow new skills in “Presentation Skills: On-Camera 10 Steps to Relaxed, Effective Communication On-Camera Tips From an Actor’s Toolbox.”
