Bill Jones

Bill Jones grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, which is about 60 miles west of Savannah. His wife, Sharon, is also from there, and they have been together since they were high school sweethearts. Now, they are in their 41st year of wedded bliss.

Their son, Daniel, and daughter-in-law Stephanie, are at Cambridge University (UK) where Daniel is an oceanographer. With that, Bill and Sharon's three year old grandson, Alex, is a long way from Gammy and Grandpa.

Bill is, by trade, an electrical engineer (graduated from Georgia Tech) and has spent his career in the electric utility business, mainly in Savannah, Georgia. He and Sharon lived in Savannah for a time, and then moved "to the country" about half way between Savannah and Statesboro.

They now live on a dirt road surrounded by fields and forests. (Daniel often referred to it as the middle of nowhere). That gives Bill the perfect location for gardening (his favorite hobby) and enjoying, and observing God's creation.

Bill has had articles published in magazines (Evangel, Keys to Living, The Christian Journal). While his unique observations and way of thinking have been present most of his life, much of his writing has come about following his and Sharon's volunteering several years ago to publish their church's newsletter. He began writing a monthly column that has the same title and focus as his first book, and from which many of the stories got their start.

Bill's writing has branched out to the internet and he has been writing a blog for the past few years. Many of the posts focus on gardening and the wonder of God's Creation, but other stories make it in, and the humor and unique perspectives seen in the book are still there.
