Paul Seftel

Paul Seftel is a British-American artist and writer whose work explores creativity, consciousness, time, and transformation.

His latest book, Field Guide to the Art World: How to Stay Human When Everything’s for Sale, is part satire, part observation, and part survival guide—a funny, philosophical journey through the mirages of contemporary creative life. His earlier novel, The Comet’s Tale, travels through fire, light, and the edge of the millennium, weaving personal memory with cosmic questions.

Originally from London, Paul now lives and works in Cerrillos, New Mexico, near Santa Fe, where he runs Seftel Gallery. Across writing, painting, and sculpture, he works with myth, memory, mineral materials, and the unseen forces shaping our inner and outer worlds. Whether through words, color, texture, or light, his work invites us to look again—and remain human in a world always ending, always beginning.
