Michael Salmond

Michael Salmond is an Professor of Digital Media Design at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, FL. USA. He has worked in the interactive media design industry for many years at startups in the UK and as an interactive developer in the USA. He moved into teaching after receiving his MFA from the University of South Florida in 2003. He has taught Interactive Media Design for 18 years, in the UK and the USA.

Michael's design and art work has been exhibited internationally and online, he has created works in interactivity, digital video and videogame media. His work has been published in several books and he has written for industry magazines and online publications such as KTX World and ComputerCreative. Michael has published many academic papers on video gaming and new media and has an active record of panel participation at conferences such as the College Art Association and Siggraph.

Michael's focus is on interactive media; what it can do, where it will take us and its potential to entertain, educate and communicate.
