In 1995 Dan Nygaard became fascinated by the ancient story of the Magi visit to Bethlehem. Researching that story led him into Parthian history and culture. Over time, what began as notes grew into a story that has now become his first novel.
Dan likes to claim he has the best job in the world—he leads Hope Community Fellowship, a missional church in Fort Collins, Colorado. Every Sunday his story-telling skills are refi ned by the challenge of maintaining his audience’s attention. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Ridgeview Classical Schools, a public charter school; he is also the Chaplain of GRIT (grace, righteousness, intensity, toughness) Athletics.
Dan and Belinda have enjoyed 38 years of marriage. He’s a voracious reader and she’s a voracious ballroom dancer. They’re the proud parents of two adult sons, Dustin and Benjamin; and hosted two exchange students—Jan from Germany and Diana from South Korea. The Nygaard home has been a story-telling place for people from around the world; Russia, Mongolia, Vietnam, China, Puerto Rico, and Ukraine, as well as South Korea and Germany.
