Peggy L. Watson was born in 1966, in Bangor, Maine, the youngest of four girls. She struggled with depression, suicidal tendencies, and anger throughout her youth and on into her thirties. After moving to Tennessee and getting married, she enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University in 1994. During those college years, the truth was revealed--her new husband was a crack addict. Although she would go on to graduate with honors, summa cum laude, with a BA in communication disorders and two minors--Neuropsychology and German--the ever-present feelings of hopelessness and depression nearly overwhelmed her. Having grown up in church, Peggy believed the Bible had all of life's instructions, and although she didn't see the words "cocaine" or "crack" in the Bible, she believed the answers were in there. Through God's Word she discovered how to deal with her husband and his addiction. Her depression, low self-esteem, and hopelessness melted away. Peggy and her husband, Lonnie, recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary. She became a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines in 1999, and Lonnie has been clean since 2000. The Watson's currently live in the countryside, outside of Nashville, TN.
