Jim Kirwan

Jim Kirwan is the founder and former CEO of TrySports and the creator of Get America Moving. He came to the United States from Ireland in 2003 to set up TrySports, a specialty retail business focused on the aerobic activities of walking, running, swimming, cycling, fitness and triathlon.

Jim is so concerned about the health problems facing America that he stepped down as CEO of TrySports in 2012 and he is now on a mission to Get America Moving. He coined the phrase the “Inactivity Epidemic” because the vast majority of Americans don’t exercise enough and worries that in a few short years, we will look back and wonder, a bit like smoking, how we failed to connect the dots about our inactivity.

While there are no guarantees available, he believes you can significantly influence your life expectancy and the quality of your life by the actions you take. Jim is so passionate about Get America Moving, that he has recently appeared on Television many times including Fox 5 News in Las Vegas, NBC in Tampa & Palm Springs, Kron 4 in San Francisco, ABC in Albuquerque including a 5 part series and of course ABC News 4 in Charleston, his home town!
