Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Daniel has lived in Scotland since 2002. His wife is the fine art and fashion photographer 'Flannery O'Kafka' and they have five children. Daniel is writing his doctoral thesis at the University of Glasgow on an 'ecomonstrous' interpretation of the fiction of R. A. Lafferty and Cormac McCarthy.
His essays and fiction have been included in Fungi, Cre, Margins, Feast of Laughter: An Appreciation of R. A. Lafferty, and Hybrid Moments: A Literary Tribute to the Misfits.
He also has essays included in the following forthcoming volumes: Divine Horror: The Cinematic Battle Between the Sacred and the Supernatural (McFarland) and Monstrous Encounters: Nordic Perspectives on Monsters and the Monstrous (University of Copenhagen).
