Sharon Freeman Laborde is a native of Alabama, a retired educator, writer, and editor. She is the author of three novels: A Year in the Heartland (Sharon Laborde Horton, Happenstance Books 2007) Murder at Canterbury Faire: A Dr. Emily Goldman Mystery (Cahaba Press 2014) and Carolina’s Secret (Cahaba Press 2015). She divides her time between her homes in Birmingham, Alabama and Beaver, Arkansas where she is active in environmental issues, organic gardening, and the arts. She is also interested in historic preservation. Her home in Northwest Arkansas is located on the White River near Beaver Lake and the Victorian village of Eureka Springs.
