Roger Meadows

Roger Meadows grew up in the hills of Southwest Missouri, attending a one-room country school all eight grades. From there it was high school, graduating with honors. It was there he encountered a fiery little English teacher named Reitha Baxter who influenced the rest of his life, enhnancing his love of the written word that had begun with his mother.

Next came an engineering degree at Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, a beginning in industry, and a tour in the Army as an aviator. After the Army, there were more years in industry and a Master's Degree in Business. He conducted business throughout the world, dealing with many cultures in Russia, Europe, and the Far East.

He married his wife, Wanda, not long after graduation from college and they have three grown children and two grandchildren. One son, Philip, is an architect, proficient in graphics, who designed all four of his beautiful book covers so far.

Roger Meadows is the author of A CHANCE ENCOUNTER, a mystery, and a prior suspense novel, HANGMAN, A Deadly Game. His third book, titled DEVIL'S LANE, is set in the 1880s in Southwest Missouri, where he father and grandfather were born. The book is fiction, but colored with stories about life in those days. The most recent book, RETURN TO BULL CREEK, is a sequel, requested by several local readers.

Mr. Meadows has written dozens of essays and short stories, and edited the works of other writers. He has participated in writers' groups in Spartanburg, Greenville, and Hilton Head, South Carolina; and Knoxville, Tennessee. He and his wife are members of the local chapter of Sisters in Crime.Mr. Meadows enjoys reading, sailing, kayaking, travel, woodworking, and wooden boat building. He and his wife live in the Upstate of South Carolina.
