James Williams

James Williams is a BACP-registered integrative counsellor and the author of bestselling guides on high sensitivity, with over 50,000 copies sold worldwide. His books — including Understanding the Highly Sensitive Child, Supporting the Highly Sensitive Child: Making Sense of Meltdowns, and Understanding the Highly Sensitive Person — have been trusted by parents, teachers, and therapists across the globe.

James began writing when his own daughter’s sensitivity inspired him to seek answers. Finding Elaine Aron’s pioneering work gave him the language he needed — but he wanted to create something shorter, simpler, and more practical for busy parents. His first book, Understanding the Highly Sensitive Child, with a foreword by Dr. Aron herself, has since become a go-to introduction for families and professionals alike.
