Timothy D. Wise

Tim Wise is a Professor of Management at Southern Arkansas University where he teaches entrepreneurship, strategy, and organizational theory. A self-proclaimed nerd, Tim is a huge fan of science fiction, fantasy, old style horror movies, comics, and animation. Nonfiction interests include apologetics, personality studies, and artistic entrepreneurship. He sees his fiction and nonfiction writings as "truth in stereo," as two complementary ways of exploring the same realities. "Nonfiction is more direct," he says, "but fiction is more playful and less confrontational. In either case, I'm inviting readers on a journey." Early influences on his writing include C.S. Lewis and Ray Bradbury. Star Trek, Universal monster films, and Marvel and DC comic books had their influences as well. More recent author favorites include horror writer Dean Koontz and Christian nonfiction author Philip Yancey. "I love the way Yancey explores the tough issues," Tim says. "He's not preaching to you or attacking you. It's like a conversation with a friend. That's the way I want my writing to be." Besides writing and comic book art, Tim also has interests in travel, filmmaking, and theme park design.
