Gordon Wallace

Gordon Wallace is a Scot whose writing includes his latest book "Singing Softly To The Light."

The book is a biography of the artist Mary Louise Coulouris complete with many coloured examples of her art work. A second book on Coulouris with more of her work on display will be published in autumn, 2016, by Unicorn Press.

Previous to this I wrote a book about a First War soldier based on letters salvaged from a vandalised house in Manchester. They formed the basis of a script for BBC Radio which subsequently shared a Sony Award. After being broadcast the script was enlarged to form the book "Sonny: The Truth Between The lines" published by PeakPublish in 2013.

In addition to my books I have written short stories which have been published in several anthologies and broadcast by BBC radio. However, my poetry still struggles to find an appreciative ear although being ignored is never a reason for giving up. As consolation I suppose my lyrics for the song "Tour of the Island" can be listened to on Youtube.

After many years article-writing for newspapers and magazines, I am excited by continuing this thread with a series of vignettes about living among the Greeks on the enchanting island of Hydra. There will be a lot of me in the book alongside a non-patronising approach to the Greek people. I only hope the Greeks agree!
