Danielle Koon

Danielle Koon is a published author from Southeastern Virginia.

Ms. Koon started her writing career as a fashion blogger with the launch of the Thoughts of a Fashion Junkiiee blog in 2010 (retired). Thoughts of a Fashion Junkiiee focused on spotlighting independent style voices. Through interviews and collaborations with emerging fashion bloggers and stylists, the blog celebrated personal style, creativity, and the stories behind unique wardrobes. The goal was to build a community that championed authenticity, trend diversity, and fresh perspectives in the fashion world.

Danielle released her debut five-star anthology My Racing Mind: Poetry and Prose in 2014.

This birthed the My Racing Mind series with the release of My Racing Mind 2 and My Racing Mind: Deluxe Edition.

Danielle provided quality, upbeat copy for The Rickey Smiley Show's official website and Comedian DL Hughley's The G.E.D Section blog from 2015 to 2016.

In 2017, Danielle established The I JUST WANT TO EXPRESS MYSELF Initiative.

The I JUST WANT TO EXPRESS MYSELF Initiative is a literacy and empowerment project dedicated to getting books into the hands of students through the educators who support them most. Through this initiative, Danielle donates free copies of her children’s books and educational workbooks to teachers, media specialists, and librarians. The goal is to inspire creativity, encourage self-expression, and provide accessible, diverse reading materials for classrooms and libraries.

Danielle Koon published her first children's book, Lunar Star, in 2019. She continued the series with her second children's book, Lunar Star: The New Kid on the Block.

Ms. Koon published her first children's workbook, My WRITING IS FUN Workbook, in 2021.

As a Christian, Ms. Koon will continue to fulfill her life’s purpose through love, charity, and authentic expression.
