CNS, Gena E. Kadar DC

Gena E. Kadar, DC, MS.MEdL, CNS is the founding dean of both the College of Nutrition and the School of Mental Health at Sonoran University where she established and led the development of four master’s degree programs in health sciences and leadership. She also conceived and led the creation of a bespoke Virtual Health Center Experience, a telehealth-based clinical training program, and the Virtual Center for Personalized Nutrition, the first university-based center dedicated to the remote delivery of evidence-based, personalized nutrition care at no cost. Over the past twenty years, Dr. Kadar has distinguished herself as a clinician, leader, author, educator, bridge-builder, and innovator of evidenced-based curricula. She has served as a professor, academic leader, and as a champion of integrative medicine and interprofessional care. She has presented her scholarly work around the world, served as Chair of the Division of Integrative Health Sciences and the Department of Nutrition at Southern California University of Health Sciences, a Corporate Wellness Consultant, Executive Director of The Dick Butkus Center for Cardiovascular Wellness, and for nearly a decade led a successful clinical practice. She developed a nutricosmetic product line, has published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, and led the development of clinical nutrition guidelines on obesity and cardiovascular health management. Dr. Kadar serves on several non-profit boards and councils including the Board of Directors for the Accreditation Council for Nutrition Professional Education where she also served as a three time site team member and team chair. She was a four-term Faculty Senate President and is a Member of the American Nutrition Association and the American Society for Nutrition. Dr. Kadar has been recognized with awards for her research, service, leadership, and teaching including a teaching award from the Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine. She is a graduate of University of New England, Southern California University of Health Sciences, and McGill University with additional studies completed at the University of Salamanca in Spain and the Sorbonne, University of Paris.
