J. M. Beal started her first novel on scraps of receipt paper behind the counter working retail. A Kansas native, she now lives in Northern Virginia with her family and a menagerie of animals. Someday she hopes to breed angora rabbits and use their fur to knit socks.

She's never met a genre she didn't like, but lately she's been more prone to light sci-fi with a slight romantic bent.
