Annabel Woolmer

Annabel Woolmer is a mum of 2 who stumbled on cooking as a way of entertaining her 13 month old toddler one rainy afternoon. Ever since, she has cooked regularly with both her children, and with toddlers from her local playgroup. Frustrated by the lack or inappropriateness of resources for under 3s, Annabel developed a new approach to cooking with toddlers, known as 'Tickle Fingers.'

The ethos of Tickle Fingers is to enable a very young child to cook real food that the whole family will enjoy, as independently as possible. The aim is to keep the toddler involved and therefore engaged from start to finish, and to give them the joy and satisfaction of producing something (almost) by themselves. The approach uses a combination of age-appropriate and achievable recipes, clever layout, and relevant advice. It also recognises the potential for stress on the supervising adult and aims to make it as easy as possible to enjoy and have fun together.

The Tickle Fingers Cookbook is Annabel's first book.
